I always pray for Israel. God loves Israel and so should we.
With this entry, I begin to write a blog series about praying for Israel. It is exerpted from my new book, "40 Days of Prayer for Israel." For each day there will be a Scripture that shows how much God loves Israel, followed by a modern geographical area to be prayed for, and occasionally, specific people in Israel to pray for. For instance... this is my first entry. I hope this will encourage you to pray for the land and people of Israel on a regular basis.

Scripture - Psalm 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you."
This is the headlines from the Jerusalem Post for 3/1: "Kassam hits open area in western Negev; no casualties reported." "Askelon also fired upon." Pray that the southern region will be protected from rockets.
Pray for the peace and safety of the Holy Land.

Scripture:Ex. 3:18b, 22..."the LORD God of the Hebrews has met with us.... Israel MY son, MY firstborn...."
Today pray for Sderot and Netivot. Pray that the Northern Galilee will be protected from rockets. Jerusalem Post reports - "Israel's prime minister threatened "uncompromising" retaliation against Gaza militants Sunday as Palestinian rocket fire persists six weeks after Israeli forces halted an offensive meant to end the attacks. Pray for the Peace of Israel.

I just got to thinking about the young military people I met in Israel a few short months ago. Several young men and women that posed with us for pictures at the Southern Steps; I think they were a tank unit. We laughed with them as they had a short foot-race up the steps.
Also I remembered three beautiful Israli Navy women who posed with us at the Western Wall. Our tour guide, Ido, told them that I was retired Navy and they were more than happy to stop and pose with me. I have their pics on my computer and see their smiling faces several times a day as the pics scroll over the screen. They all need our prayers today.
Pray for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).

Scripture: Amos 9:13-15 "Behold the days are coming...I will bring back the captives of MY people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them," says the LORD your God.
Pray for: Ashkelon and Ashdod. Pray for the 'two' capitals of Israel- Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Pray for the Peace of Israel.

Scripture: Deut. 32:8-10 "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of man, He set the bounaries of the peoples according to the number of sons of Israel. For the LORD'S portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of his eye.
Pray for: Nahal Oz and other Israeli cities near the Gaza border Pray for Kiryat Malchi, Israeli city bombed 12/30. Pray for the peace of Israel.
